The Blesbuck's habitat is generally open grass plains, with some cover. They can be found in mixed herds, but large bachelor herds are common. They are sensitive to heat, and thus move around more in cooler temperatures, they tend to lie out the midday heat. This makes early morning and late afternoon the ideal times for hunting Blesbuck.
As a herd they tend to stand facing into the sun, and move in single file. Both sexes have horns, but the males are noticeably thicker at the base. The male horns tend to give off a lighter colour in the sun as they have a lighter colouration of the ridges.
They have a distinct white blaze on the face. The belly, inner buttocks and legs below the knee are also white.
The blesbuck at Induna Safaris have a particular bachelor herd that have become very territorial, so they are generally easy to find, however they can be very skitterish, so it requires a good bit of stalking to get close enough to take the shot. Their territory has a fair bit of cover, so you can easily hide behind some trees when stalking them.
The recommended calibre is .308, 30-06, or a 270.
