Hunting Southern Mountain Reedbuck
Species Mountain Reedbuck
Scientific Name Redunca fulvorufula
Average Mass 30kg
Average Shoulder Height 75cm
Only the males have horns, they are short, stout and point forward. They are found in mountainous and rocky areas. Preferences are hill country with scattered bush, trees or grassy slopes. They avoid steep rock faces. This species is active at night and during the day, but when it is extremely hot they tend to lie down in the shade. When alarmed it usually flees down hill, as opposed to other Reedbuck that often flee up the slopes.
