Species Steenbuck
Scientific Name Raphicerus campestris

Only males have horns. Steenbuck seem to prefer open grassveld with patches of tall grass and scattered bushes. At Induna Safaris, they are found almost anywhere, they are very numerous
in number and can be seen in the thick bush as well as on the plains. They are usually single or in a pair. Very swift footed, and tend to lie and hide from danger, until you are almost upon them,
then they will bolt out from under a bush. They are terrotorial, both the male and female are territorial.
They have an elegant face with large eyes and long eyelashes, which makes an impressive shoulder mount.
At Induna Safaris they are a fairly easy hunt as they are so abundant, and can be found anywhere.
