Delta Airlines has announced that its non-stop flights between its main hub in Atlanta in the USA and Johannesburg will commence with the arrival of its new larger aircraft the Boeing 777LR on June 02.
This should provide a welcome boost for tourism from the USA at it reduces the flight time by three hours in both directions and eliminates the need for a stop in Dakar. Passengers flying from Delta's Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International hub will be able to connect onwards from 175 cities throughout the US Latin America and the Caribbean.
"Given the strong demand on this route we're upgrading to a Boeing 777 which has more capacity and allows us to offer a greater level of comfort with full flat seats in business class and in-flight entertainment at every seat said Margaret Copeland, Delta's Sales Manager for South Africa.
